Building Service Technicians conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to identify and address issues promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring occupant comfort and safety.
They also play a vital role in improving energy efficiency by implementing energy-saving measures and upgrading to more efficient technologies. In emergency situations, Building Service Technicians respond swiftly to mitigate risks, ensuring the safety of occupants and minimizing property damage. The programme that prepares the students for employment as a building service technician focusses on four major competencies and three units of employability skills. The related modules designed to achieve these competencies are offered over a period of 6 months.

Building Maintenance Technician: Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of building systems to ensure they operate smoothly and efficiently.
HVAC Technician: Specializes in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Electrical Technician: Focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within buildings, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
Plumbing Technician: Specializes in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and fittings.
Fire Protection Technician: Ensures that fire detection and suppression systems are installed, maintained, and functioning correctly to protect buildings and occupants from fire hazards.
Security Systems Technician: Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots security systems such as access control, surveillance cameras, and alarm systems to ensure the safety and security of the building and its occupants.
Energy Management Technician: Focuses on optimizing building systems to improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs through measures such as energy audits, retrofits, and the implementation of energy management systems.
