The Higher Diploma in Business Management (HDBM) is the most advanced qualification in the TSHE Business Management Programme suite a rigorous, industry-aligned programme at SLQF Level 4 that prepares graduates for management roles, entrepreneurship, and academic progression. Combining advanced business disciplines with real-world project work, applied research, and employer engagement, the HDBM equips students with the strategic thinking, leadership capability, and practical expertise that Sri Lanka’s most competitive employers and universities demand.

This programme is built for those who are serious about leading not just participating. Students will study entrepreneurship and business innovation, applied supply chain management, and business research methods, before undertaking the capstone project the centrepiece of the programme which involves live corporate sessions, business simulations, field visits, and a fully integrated business planning exercise. At the final stage, students select their preferred pathway: a Business Research Project for those pursuing degree-level study, or a three-month Business Internship for those moving directly into employment.

At 60 credits and SLQF Level 4, the HDBM is recognised as a direct articulation qualification for degree programmes at local and international universities. It is equally the foundation for those who wish to start their own venture, lead a family business, or step into a management role with the knowledge, credentials, and confidence to make an immediate impact.
